C. Bradley Thompson (Clemson University): Americans Turn Rebels, 1765–1776

Professor Bradley Thompson will present at the Invisible Hand Seminar.

In 1764, Americans were loyalists and saw themselves as proud subjects of the Crown.

How is it that Americans so quickly turned toward rebellion and secession?

With the 250th on our doorstep, Professor Thompson will explore the dramatic decade leading up to Thomas Paine's Common Sense and The Declaration of Independence.
